Frequently Asked Questions

There’s a lot of these FAQs

Yes. But that wasn’t a question. But to answer your… er statement… we put up all the FAQs we could think of and then any time we get a question not covered on here – we’ve added it to the list. So please contact us with any queries you may have at 07827 023607.

Why are your shows better than your competitors?

That’s easy, because our actors have more experience. Our show is more exciting and original. And because your kids will never forget how they got to interact and become part of the story.

Is there a limit on how many people we can have in the audience?

No. You have booked the show - we will play to any sized audience.

Can we sell tickets to the show?

Yes. Again you have booked the show - and can sell tickets to see it if you wish.

Will you really turn our space into a theatre?

Our team will put up the backdrop, wings, lights – and a full sound system. That will, along with the costumes, props and the performances, create the magic of theatre. Even in the smallest and simplest of rooms.

Are you sure you can set up in our venue? It’s enormous/small/strange…

We can perform in any size venue, and you don’t need to have any stage facilities of your own. Our backdrops can cater for the size of the space [can go bigger/smaller/err stranger, as need be].

But how long will all that take? What’s the ‘Set Up Time’?

To put in the backdrops, sound system, lights, and set up the props and costumes take’s less than 30 minutes. Which is why we ask for access to the space, for half an hour before the audience is let in. This means the setup can be relaxed, and give the cast a chance to warm up and check everything works properly.

How long will it take you to pack up afterwards?

You’re trying to get rid of us already? We can pack everything away in 10 minutes – you just need to let us know before we arrive. But we’d rather do it calmly, which will take around 20 minutes. Though that is dependent on the room having been cleared – of children. As their questions and not being able to move items because of safety concerns will considerably slow our gang down.

Can you explain how the booking process works?

Yes, we have used a ‘ticket system’ so it’s easier for you to book the slot you want. As that means, you don’t have to speak to us first (to check if it’s available) – which is doubly handy, if you are like me, and do most of your admin/purchasing late at night.

First you need to click on one of the many ‘Book Your Show’ buttons on this website – one of which is up to the top of this page – you will then see all the availability that we have. You can check out the dates you want and see what show times are open to being booked. It should feel like buying a ticket for a concert or a show – the only difference is that you are buying an entire show, and rather than you going to the theatre, the theatre is coming to you.

To actually book the show, you will need to pay a deposit. We will contact you after you have booked the show – to run through the timings you want, and various other details.

How can you afford to pay for such a cast?

That’s a good question. Obviously, for the price of this show, you could never book a cast like this. In facts you couldn’t even book a single member of the cast for this price. It’s only because this show is a passion project for the actors. Two of the cast, from the start of the radio show and the album release, didn’t take a wage but donated their proceeds to charity. The cast love the concept and idea of the show – they love working together – and they love doing the show almost as much as the audiences love watching them do it.

Have the cast all performed Stand Up Comedy?

Not quite. All of them, bar one, have at least two decades of experience performing comedy and comedy improv in front of the toughest comedy club audiences. They are all headline acts in their own right. The member of the team who hasn’t performed on the comedy club circuit, is known for being a Comedy Musical performer – and has been performing comedy parts in the biggest West End Theatres, and number one Regional Theatre’s, including far too many of the big ‘Celebrity’ Pantomimes to mention, and has done so since the late 90s.

Are all the cast professional singers?

Two of them are actors who sing. The other three have sung professionally and are what we call ‘real’ singers. One who now performs a comedy music act but was the lead singer in a band that supported MUD in the 70s. Another is still singing with a successful comedy music troop, that he founded in 2000. And the last one has been in the biggest West End Shows for over 20 years.

How many actors will be in our show?

For the staged shows, the cast will consist of the five original radio show cast members, but which cast members and how many will depend on their availability during the run. Although all five members of the cast did the radio shows rehearsals (that was broadcast), only four were available for the Radio Live Production of the finished show. For this stage show we’ve found that two or three cast members can work the best – as then each actor is performing more roles. That doesn’t mean if you get all five it will be a bad show… the number in the cast is fluid, you will get more than 1, but no matter whether you get 2, 3, 4 or 5 actors you will get to see a wonderful performance of our amazing show.

Do your actors have their DBS?

We have gone the extra mile on this one. Not just the actors, but everyone from the driver to those in the office have their basic DBS check. Now, the actors themselves, who have direct contact with the children, they don’t just have their basic DBS, they all have their full enhanced DBS.

Insurance and Safety?

All our sets and props have been safety checked. This includes all the electrics for the lighting and sound. We also have a fully inclusive £5,000,000 Public Liability insurance policy.

You come to us? But what parts of the country do you actually cover?

In theory, we cover the entire world. Practically, we are mostly targeting venues in London and the surrounding counties. But if you are further afield, do contact us and we can see if we can make it work.

If our venue is further away, do we have to pay extra?

If you are 20 miles, or less, from the Centre of London [SW1A 2DX] then there is no extra charge. But if you are further out, we charge £5 and £1 for each extra mile. So, if your venue is 30 miles out, we’d charge an extra £15. 40 miles out, and it would be £25 extra. This covers the extra time and petrol to go to and from your venue. We have kept this surcharge as low as possible and aren’t charging it to make a profit.

Do you do discounts for if we book multiple shows?

Yes. If you are booking a show for the same day and venue, we offer a 30% discount off a 2nd show and 46% off the price of a third show.

For the 60-minute shows, that would get you £200 off a 2nd show, and £300 off a 3rd show.

For the 2hr shows, that would get you £300 off a 2nd show, and £460 off a 3rd show.

And best of all – if you have any other discount ‘on all orders’ – you can stack them on top… I love a double discount.

So, you have other discounts?

Yes… Well, probably. You’d have to look at the top of this page and see if there is one currently running.

The discount itself applies to all orders. Whether you are buying the cheapest, most expensive, or multiple shows, you get the same discount. And yes, you get this even if you also have another discount on your order for booking multiple shows.

Note all these discounts are time limited – and will rarely run – and even when they are running, they could be stopped early.

There are no other discount codes on the internet. I promise. Just from our email list, or in the banner on top of this page.

What happens if, during a show, a kid says something naughty?

Luckily, we have a very experienced cast. It would be situationally dependent. And I am sure your kids are all too well behaved to shout out rude words. But if it happened, often the actor will ‘not hear’ what they said and go with another suggestion. This often works well when multiple kids are shouting ideas, and it doesn’t embarrass the child who maybe got over excited. If it happened again, the actor would, in a friendly way, let the child/crowd know that this isn’t an appropriate suggestion. In all honesty, this is such an unlikely occurrence – but we got asked about it and this is the answer… from our experience in the business, this sort of behaviour is only likely to persist in a social club type venue, where the adults have left the show to ‘baby sit’ their children – oh, and it should go without saying… don’t do that.

Why don’t you list the names of the cast?

For us to book the cast, we had to agree to not put their names on the website. You can check out their photos and some of the work they have done, but you won’t see their names. Not putting their names on is a Google/Agent thing. The agents expressed their wish for Google to not link their artists to this show – as obviously they normally command a higher fee. But if you want to know the names, call us, it’s not a secret.

Will you need a place to Park?

Yes. The team will need a parking space on the day of the show – ideally near the performance space – as they have heavy speakers to carry in.

We are in the congestion charge zone. Will it cost extra?

Sadly, yes. The show needs to be brought to you by vehicle. We tried to convince the actors to carry all the staging and props on their backs – but they weren’t up for that. If your venue is in the congestion zone, then you will be charged an extra £15.
